Bormio Ski World Cup - Side Events
Unmissable. The Alpine Ski World Cup race is our most anticipated event of the year.
Be it at home on a big screen, or live at the ski stadium, cheering on the champions of skiing is an electrifying experience. Everyone should try it at least once!
Bormio is legendary in the world of Alpine skiing. Since their construction, its ski slopes have become some of the most famous on the World Cup circuit. On these very slopes champions like Deborah Compagnoni and Pietro Vitalini were born and some of the most significant pages in the history of the sport have been written. The dates are fixed. On 28th and 29th December the whole of Bormio awaits the opening of the gate with bated breath.

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the ski champions! Parade of the ski clubs, the local sports groups, the skiers of the past and ski instructors, with the participation of the Bormio Philarmonic Orchestra, along via Roma up to Piazza Cavour/Kuerc. Once in the square, bibs will be drawn for the downhill on 28th December. Music, entertainment, hot tea and mulled wine will complete the evening.

- 6:00 PM – Parade of local clubs accompanied by the Bormio Philharmonic.
- 6:05 PM Entertainment with Andrea Casta, the world’s most famous crossover electric violinist.

- To follow – live talk by Carlo Vanzini and Marc Genè with the special participation of Simone Origone, holder of the speed record in the KL speciality of 254 km/h. Special guests: Kristian Ghedina, Giorgio Rocca, Pietro Zazzi, Michael “Much” Mair, Nicolò Molteni, Christoph Innerhofer, Mattia Casse and Werner Heel. (The live talk will be held in Italian).
Andrea Casta is the most famous Italian crossover electric violinist in the world; in his career he has played in 30 countries, reaching 1 million live audiences and 250,000 followers on social networks, and has collaborated on events and communication campaigns for more than 100 Italian and international brands.
Simon & Mac are a South Tyrolean EDM duo that combines tradition and modernity in an innovative way. With a unique mix of Styrian accordion sounds, electronic drums and modern pop and dance elements, they create a sound that reinterprets tradition. Carlo Vanzini is an Italian journalist, sports commentator and former alpine skier. In the 1990s he participated in two Universiades (Sapporo 1991 and Zakopane 1993). Marc Genè is a former Formula 1 driver (Minardi, Williams and Ferrari test driver) and sports commentator.

Vitalini Speed Contest (ski stadium pista Stelvio)
3.00 p.m. – On the occasion of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, the Vitalini Speed Contest is dedicated to all young alpine ski athletes from local ski clubs who want to compete on the track of the great champions.

“Circo L’azione” is an all-round company between circus art and music founded in 2011 by
three friends, Francesco the Merchant, Daniele and Mirco. Versatility and passion are the
keywords that have allowed the group to gather and entertain crowds in the most unusual
situations, growing to animate events such as the Venice Carnival.

Deborah Compagnoni: a mountain girl (palazzetto dello Sport S. Antonio Valfurva)
Deborah Compagnoni, who grew up in Santa Caterina Valfurva, shares the memories of a childhood made up of games, discoveries and deep ties with her territory. With the participation of Paolo De Chiesa.
Come and meet the champion up close and be inspired by her unique journey, on and off the slopes!
Signing sessions at the end of the evening. The evening will be held in Italian.
FREE ENTRANCE
Deborah Compagnoni needs no introduction. Born and raised in S. Caterina Valfurva, she is a former Italian alpine skier and the first athlete to have won a gold medal in three different editions of the Winter Olympics in the history of alpine skiing. She was one of Italy’s most successful female skiers, her list of victories includes sixteen World Cup wins, three Olympic gold medals and three rainbow gold medals. She also won a World Cup in giant slalom and was the standard bearer of the Italian representative team during the opening ceremony of the XVII Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer 1994.
Paolo De Chiesa is an Italian journalist and former alpine skier specialising in special slalom.
He was the youngest skier in the “Italian Valanga”, and the strongest Italian slalom skier in
that team after Gustav Thöni, Piero Gros and Fausto Radici.

of the Stelvio slope! Complimentary bib to ‘race’ (while stocks last) – The cabaret will be
held in Italian - To follow, DJ Set with SiscoFly.
The Bandadram is an itinerant street band that captures the audience’s attention with its engaging rhythms, movements and choreography reminiscent of the samba batucada. The band includes people of very different ages: children from seven years old, teenagers and adults. The songs, written by Roberto Lisignoli, founder of the group, are performed with six or seven voices, corresponding to different types of drums to create different timbral varieties and melodic lines.
Passionate about dance and music since he was a child in Africa, SiscoFly moved to Italy in
2002, joining the ‘HIP HOP’ cultural movement, and began practising the art of break
dancing, hip hop, graffiti, rap and DJing.
